As international students at the university, we were frustrated by the high cost of receiving international money transfers. We tried building an alternative and realized early enough that the infrastructure needed to build such a solution didn't just exist yet at the time. Blockchain technology was the answer to solving it — we went on to win a bootcamp, coming in 1st place across the African continent, held by the Stellar Development Foundation.

There is still friction in payments for international internet businesses who seek to enter new emerging, developing and developed markets or for SMEs that just want to receive payments from their customers. Most of the existing options today are still expensive, and a lot of money is still being lost. Stablecoins, DeFi infrastructure, and traditional rails working together is the perfect solution to solve this.
